I have always had an interest in photography, from the first Kodak instamatic 126 camera I had when I was about 12. I remember also having one of the polaroid cameras that came out in the seventies. The problem was, I never had any money for new film!
In High School, I took photography as a leisure activity on a Friday afternoon. Here, I was taught the basics of the 35 mm SLR, and B & W developing. It was all exciting stuff, watching the image appear on the paper, under the dim red light. I can still remember the chemicals stinging my eyes as I timed the exposure of the next print.
It wasn't till the eighties that I got my first SLR camera. It was a Ricoh, which took Pentax fitting lenses. I still have it today. I also dabbled in colour processing at that point, using a cheap Paterson Darkroom kit I bought from a catalouge.
It was really with the onset of the digital age that I eventually found my footing in the world of Photography. I have completed various courses, and studied the uses of Photoshop in the production of Photo Art. There is so much to learn, and I find myself walking a new path every day.
I decided early this year to turn my hobby into a part time business. It has been a difficult task, but I have finally got my website up and running. I am now taking orders for prints and digital downloads. I am slowly building up my portfolio, mostly concentrating on landscape, which I love working with.
I have done a couple of weddings, and am available for any future events. I will be putting a booking form up soon on which you can book a date up to 6 months in advance. I also have a full portable studio with which I can do portraits in your own home. Should your wedding / party photographer let you down, I can also take on short notice bookings, if necessary.
I hope you enjoy my site, and perhaps buy something while you are here. Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
